I’ve had an oven for the last three years that includes a proofing reservoir that needs to be filled with water. Do I need to be using this feature when baking?

Answer:

I don't use steam when I'm baking cakes and muffins. Um, maybe when you are, you know, if you're using, if you're baking bread, yes, but definitely not for cakes.
